The PeroCUBE project promises a vision of a more sustainable world based on the evolution of perovskite.
What could be achieved with the products of the PeroCUBE project, which today are only prototypes?
With the new material composition, which includes perovskite:
– Reduction in land take by at least 13 percent: 1,400 km2
– Increased energy production by 400 TWh
Solar cells, with components partly made of perovskite, have made rapid progress in research and prototype development. Efficiency has increased from about 3% (2009) to over 26.8% (today).
Oled has not been developed because of high costs, while PeLED will have significantly lower production costs.
This will also lead to an innovative interpretation of the concept of light because the light will be all around, no longer projected from a light source.
Also underlying the new device will be the transmission of data through LiFi i.e., through light, thus without wiring and in the absence of magnetic fields. LiFi anticipates the problem of WiFi spectrum that will soon end because it is full.
The PeroCUBE project aims to develop flexible and lightweight electronics based on perovskite, creating new business opportunities for the lighting, energy and telecommunications sectors.
